# kombify Cloud

> What the hosted kombify account and dashboard are for, and what stays on your own hardware

kombify Cloud is the hosted account side of kombify. It holds your sign-in,
your subscription and the dashboard from which you open the kombify tools you
are entitled to.

  kombify Cloud is in public beta. Availability is not guaranteed, and that
  includes paid plans. Your statutory rights are not affected. See the beta
  section of the terms on kombify.io.

## What Cloud does

* **Account and sign-in.** Sign-in, sign-up and account choice happen on
  kombify's hosted login page, powered by Auth0.
* **Dashboard.** After sign-in you land in the app at `app.kombify.io`, where
  you launch your tools and change settings.
* **Plans and billing.** Plans are billed through Stripe, monthly or
  quarterly, and you can cancel at the end of any billing period.
* **Households.** A household lets people you invite share items with each
  other. Availability follows the beta status above.

## What Cloud does not do

Cloud is optional for running your own infrastructure. A kit installed with the
[StackKits CLI](/stackkits/overview) works without a kombify account, and the
[Identity and Access concept](/identity/overview) explains how local and hosted
sign-in relate.
