Start with the problem you see, then follow the checks in order.
A service address does not open
- Compare the address you typed with the address printed by the CLI or shown
in the Node Hub. Copy it rather than typing it from memory.
- Make sure the device uses the name resolution of your homelab. StackKits
does not silently change every router or device. The default local domain is
home.test; names below it must resolve on the device you are using.
- Open the same address from another device in your home network. If it works
there, the problem is the first device, not the homelab.
- From the workspace folder, run
stackkit verify --json and look for
findings.
The Node Hub does not open
Check that its expected base.<domain> address is the one in the rollout
output, that the name resolves from your device and that the route belongs to
the current workspace. Regenerate from the StackSpec instead of editing the
generated Node Hub or router files. See Node Hub.
The browser warns about the connection
Do not click through a warning you do not understand. Ask the person who set
up the homelab and compare the address with the one in the Node Hub. Do not turn off protection on a route to make a
warning go away.
I cannot sign in to a service
Services behind TinyAuth ask you to sign in through PocketID. Use the account
that the owner created for you. It is not your kombify Cloud account.
The setup stopped with an error
- Read the last log with
stackkit logs latest --json.
- Do not run the one-line installer a second time without reading the error.
- Check that your operating system is listed in OS compatibility.
- If you cannot find the cause, send the log text, but not the file
.stackkit/access.json, to info@kombify.io.
I applied a change and something broke
Return to the plan you reviewed. If you made a backup first, restore from it as
described in Back up and restore.
This is why a backup before a change is part of the routine.
A public kombify.me name does not open
See kombify.me troubleshooting.
Never paste the contents of .stackkit/access.json, passwords or passkey
recovery material into a chat, an issue or an e-mail.
